I am a Baby Boomer who was part of the generation that protested for equal rights, civil rights, womens rights, the environment, & any other cause that we felt needed to be addressed. We persevered & because of us, the United States is a different country. I've "been there, done that" & am more than willing to "hand over the reins" to the younger generation. What is happening now is going to have a longer effect on that generation than on me. And yet, the Tax Day rally had a much larger population of my generation than the young. Where are they? I know that many colleges "brainwash" the young into more liberal ideas - but that doesn't mean that there aren't those "out there" who have more conservative views. We need to find a way to reach these people. Any suggestions???

There has been no response, so far, concerning this particular message. I don't know if it is that there are no suggestions or that people are not coming to the message board & reading it.
Either way, it emphasizes what I have been saying - that people are not getting "involved".
We need to start getting out to the community & talk to our younger generation. Possibly we can go to young adult church groups. Maybe we can organize some kind of singles social activity - that invites individuals who share our views.
We need to take action to get the younger generation involved!

How about something like this? ARE YOU A SINGLE PERSON BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 - 30 WHO IS UNHAPPY WITH THE STIMULUS PACKAGE & DIRECTION OF OUR GOVERNMENT?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET OTHERS WHO SHARE YOUR VIEWS?
COME TO THE SINGLES PARTY AT ............ This could be at a nice lounge rather than a church which might be a "turn-off" for some. A person could get up at the beginning & give a VERY SHORT statement of purpose & then the rest of the evening could be left for the singles to "mingle".

I have a 20 year old son who lives with my husband and I. He is as conservative as you can possibly imagine! He was at the downtown Ft. Laud. Tea Party, waving his tea bag and wishing he had brought a sign! He has been Homeschooled and, therefore, shares our views. Yes, contacting youth groups at Church groups and the Homeschool community here would be a good idea. I can contact some Homeschooling groups.

Finally, someone who recognizes the need to start getting the younger generation involved! I didn't even think about the Homeschooling community. What a great idea! Young adults who have not been influenced by public school "propaganda"! I am now working with Marty Hughes of the "Defending Our Liberty" organization ( www.defendingourliberty.com) to put together some kind of singles activity in a nice lounge.
