For this Tea Party, we are going wherever we can be accomodated. There is a lot to look into...include permits and pricing, which is going to make it difficult this time. We are looking for something a little central, like davie, sunrise, plantation, fort lauderdale, etc. But we are going to try and spread around more.

I would prefer if we could wait on some of this stuff. The event is 2 months away. We have plenty of time to put those kind of things together. I just wanted everyone to really save the date. I have a meeting with Joyce and Allen West today, hopefully we will nail down some details, but we will see.

Well if you are thinking of using a park you might want to begin lining one up tomorrow, if it is not already too late. In my opinion with the economy in the tank we are going to see a lot of folks celebrating the fourth near home and I’m willing to bet parks and pavilions being so inexpensive will be booked up early for family gatherings. This is a letter I sent to our esteemed Napolitano hope it will inspire you to write those in our commrades in Washington.
April 20, 2009 Secretary Janet Napolitano Department of Homeland Security U.S. Department of Homeland Security Washington, DC 20528
Dear Ms Napolitano,
Well, I am all a twitter about my newfound status as a terrorist. I am somewhat reveling in my scariness, most of my life has been pretty mundane, raising kids, going to school functions, church, the grocery store and a lot of baking (a lot of baking). Well you can imagine my surprise going to bed one night a pro-lifer and waking up a terrorist the very next day. Wow! Things can “Change”. I wonder what tomorrow could bring.
The following day was the Tax Day Tea Party in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. As I prepared to go I took careful pains to make sure I hadn’t accidentally slipped some explosives or the likes onto my person. My daughters and I pulled together our signs, bottle waters and a few energy bars and headed over to the federal building where the other right-wing extremist/ terrorist were gathering. We parked our car, paid for our parking and helped some other non-gun toting radicals pay for their parking as they were a little short on “change” (get it, short on “CHANGE”). As we heading down the street the nasty crowd was coming together in front of the Federal Bldg. It was a festive atmosphere with much humor in the air via the Dept of Homeland Security and their warnings of such gatherings of the insurgency. Numerous law enforcement agencies were there, I guess they are pretty upset with the president and the Congress as well. Later in the evening some of the officers informed us that they usually dealt with drug enforcement, they were all decked out in proper gear; bullet proof vest, tear gas, guns, rocket launchers…etc. They all felt pretty silly about being there since the worst they were going to encounter was a bad case of dry jokes. They are a great bunch of guys and really good looking, too. The major news outlets were there, but I can’t figure out why since they aren’t really going to report on it.
Here’s the thing, Jan, we are taxed out and some of us understand what all this money being spent by congress means not today but tomorrow and what this may irreversibly do to this country. Unlike you I love my country, I don’t even completely understand why, but I do. And like the officers of the law that stood before us in the street, in the hearing of the “Star Spangled Banner” sung a cappella by this “mob”, had tears come to their eyes. Your stunt to frighten ordinary, law-abiding citizen from a right to do that which has made this country such a great nation is a blight to the whole world as they look on. This event is what, “We the people”, is about.
Rethinking my country, Karon
