When you get a moment Lauren, can you please let us know which of these are still valid. Where you need more help and please expand where applicable.
"We had a large a large conference call last night with the national leaders and city coordinators. I wanted to fill you all in on these things we discussed. First of all, there are four things that they would like to see at every event...
1. Food Drive- they would like us to advertise a food drive and ask people who are coming to try and bring one non-perishable food item. There are two reasons behind this. Number one, they want us to try and give back to the community. Number two, it will help us to put a more positive spin on what we are. As you all, know the media is liberal and will try to make this story as negative as possible. We are trying to prevent that because we want the public to see that what we are doing is good and that we care about the future of America.
2. Voter's Registration-we will have someone out there with voter's registration forms for anyone who is not registered yet.
3. Database organizer- we will need someone to collect data (mainly name and e-mail address) on all (optimistically) people who come to the event, so that next time we do something like this, we can contact everyone quickly and efficiently. It will on the amount of money it takes to put something this together next time. (would anyone like to volunteer, or a few people?)
4. Videoman- VCast has asked us to have someone film the event and the speakers we have and submit it to them. I guess they want to do some sort of special on the Tax Day Tea Parties (would anyone like to volunteer)
Also, many people have expressed to me their desire to donate money to the cause. I am looking at how to do that in the proper manner. I have put e-mails out to the national coordinators for help on this issue. I want to do it in a way that I feel secure and free from legal liability and that the person donating feels secure that I will not run off with their money. This money will go towards putting ads in the newspaper and other media outlets, making t-shirts, posters, buttons, etc. If we have money left over, it will be donated to a charitable cause...I was looking for a veterans of Iraq charity, but if anyone has any suggestions. Hopefully, I will get this issue worked out today. If I have to I will lay out money myself to start this stuff I will go ahead. I apologize that I can't donate more, but many of you know I am a 23 year old college student with two little ones.
I would like to have meetings for all of those that would like to come. I am working on a location but I want to do it the weekends of the 24th, 4th, and 11th. Which day is best...saturday or sunday....give me good times also. At these meetings we will make posters, go over ideas and strategies, the first week we will probably design the t-shirts, and anything else we find that we need to do.
Thanks for all the help guys! Keep up the good work.
