Lauren has been in touch with me and we are going to have the Kids sign a Declaration of Independence. We can do it from the website and have the names signed directly to the document in an Old World style font. It looks very authentic when printed[img src="[/img] "]. That would require a laptop with internet access and a printer. (aircard?) I am not very computer savvy, so someone with IT knowlege would be needed to help do it that way. Second option would be to just have the Declaration printed and the kids sign in their own signature (with quill-type pens, of course) Does anyone know a company that would give us a break on printing? Those of you volunteering who are bringing kids, it would be great for the kids to help with this.

I have already downloaded a dozen activities from the US Government websites to include mazes, crossword puzzles, word searches about the Constitution, citizenship, Great Seal, and coloring pages with more to come.
Great activity for me, I am relearning lots of stuff!

Why not an online signature and an on site signature?

Why not an online signature and an on site signature? Yes, that's pretty much what we are going to do. The prints will be there and the kids sign in their own sig. (Too difficult to have a computer set up there), but I will also have the website info available so anyone who wants can also go to the National Archives and have it printed with their signature in a Colonial style penmanship. Thanks.

Hi Rhonda, can you provide that website now so we can get kids' signatures who may not be able to attend the Tea Party?

Hi Rhonda, can you provide that website now so we can get kids' signatures who may not be able to attend the Tea Party? Just put National Archives in your computer search engine, and on the first page it will have the Dec of Ind in the most requested documents box. If you can't get to it that way, let me know.

Thanks Wayne, your powers over the computer are so much more advanced than mine.
And thanks for the copies. Sorry it turned in to such an event in itself. And those people vote.

If you are bringing kids, this will be the place to be!
There will be activities for the kids, patriotic music and words, and a short play if we can find some willing actors. Copies of the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, and Bill of Rights will be displayed. The kids can sign and take home a Declaration of Independence.
And for everyone, please stop by and write a note to our soldiers/airmen/sailors/marines/coasties.
