I think this party should have some guidelines for everyone to make sure we get the best possible coverage and are perceived in the right light. 1) It should not be a scream-fest. It should be a thoughtful recitation of the issues at hand and intellectually based. Otherwise, we will be seen us just kooks. 2) It should not be a bash Obama party. There will be time for that at a later time. AND, there are plenty of Dems who are just as angry at the spending. We need EVERYONE. 3) We should be ready with intelligent answers to any questions or debates and not try to scream them down. If a microphone gets shoved in your face, be prepared and ready to show us as reasoned, concerned citizens. Any other thoughts?

I second that...this is very important! One of the most important aspects of this event is conduct. People like that gentleman we had last night at the meeting...will make all of our hard work worthless.

People like that gentleman we had last night at the meeting...will make all of our hard work worthless. I missed the meeting but I am very interested in attending the event on the 15th. Is there a formal program that is going to take place? is there a specific lineup of speaker(s)? Just wondering . . . Thanks for all your hard work on this event; it's going to pay off big time.

In order for us to all speak with one voice it would be great if the organizers of this event could prepare a one-page document with half a dozen talking points. that way we could all be ready with a decent answer if we are asked why we're there. I know Lauren is probably up to her eyeballs in projects right now but this one would be very helpful to keep everyone on track. I know all of us have different agendas in our own lives but, please, let's be respectful of this event. It is an event of the Tea Party Protest and we should speak to that issue only on this day.

We need to meet early & reserve the right to remove anyone wearing inappropriate clothing (with sayings on shirts etc.) or unacceptable signs. It is difficult to weed out individuals who have their own agenda, but if we are vigilent & listen to what the people are saying, we hopefully will be able to identify them.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. As long as they are peaceful and this is public property you really can't remove them. The organizers are working closely with LE in the event a disruption occurs.

What media is saying this is a Republican event?
I know of two stories. One on CBS, an interview with me that didn't and the new times story that said I was a registered democrat?
Is there a story I don't know about?

I understand that everyone has the right to assemble. But, I am just advising caution. If we sense someone is going to "act out" or be a trouble maker - we need to figure out some kind of "modus operandi" to deal with him. I think the advice about making the police aware is probably the best option. But, unfortunately that may be exactly what that person wants. For those who were at the meeting on Friday, we saw what happened with that one "gentleman" who was trying to advance his own agenda.

I'm a FoxNews person & rarely listen to local news stations but I do remember as I was clicking channels - hearing one of our news stations IMPLYING that the Tea Party is sponsored by the Republican Party. Unfortunately, I don't know what station it was.

just so you know, I know of several federal agents that will be attending the protest...as protesters, so we will have people IN the crowd as well that will be able to step in only if it becomes absolutely necessary.
I also saw on FOX news a lib being interviewed calling this a huge GOP event...while trying to downplay it as "unimportant".
