As some of you may have seen on another link of this board I announced I was leaving this group based on lack of communication and the lack of desire for our participation. Upon further discussion with friends today they have encouraged me to try this one more time.
There is just too much going wrong in our country right now to sit on the sidelines. It appears that more people are beginning to see the light and have a big desire to participate in a tea party on the fourth of July. It will also prove to the much of the mainstream media that we have staying power and April 15th wasn't just a fluke - that we are serious and the politicians will need to pay attention to us. It is imperative that we keep up the pressure so that everyone turns out to the voting booths in 2010 - we need to save whatever we can of the country as we know it today.
Since the organizers here aren't willing to tell us anything, I am proposing that we start planning our own Fourth of July Tea Party. My concern is that we only have 3 weeks to arrange something and that is not alot of time.
The General Manager where I work has offered to let us use a large piece of land with a pond on it in Ft. Lauderdale. It is located off of State Road 84 (Marine Mile), so it is convenient from 95 and 595. Since it is private property no permits would be required. I don't know if it would even be possible to come up with sound system, speakers etc.
I have never been involved in something like this before and aren't even sure what direction to head in. Is anyone interested? Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? Is there anyone out there that would be interested in setting up an organizational meeting ASAP?
This is my last shot, I can't sit by and do nothing and really don't feel like traveling to West Palm.
Thanks,
Caren
