Ladies and gentlman, this economic downtown has sunk to a new low. BSO's budget is so cramped that they've resorted to buying smart cars for the Airport and the port. Just think how great it will look when visitors come to south florida. Its degrading to our deputies and it only emboldens the criminals. This administration gave BSO 2 million dollars, and yet this happens. When are the liberals gonna wake up and realize what they've done to our society?

That definitely is not a pretty sight. But, they will just be used to "putt-putt" around the airport & port. The video is what would happen in a head-on collision at faster speeds.
This is impossible at the airport, as traffic is separated. Also, they will probably be traveling in the slow lane. There could be an accident - that is always a possibility - but it wouldn't be head on & as traffic is slow at the airport the damage would not be as great.

And what do you suppose happens to these "smart" cars when they need to filled with fuel? How about if they need a carwash? Many CSA's have the privelage of taking their assigned cars out to lunch during their breaks.

You are determined to find fault with the purchase of these cars. There is always a chance that something "bad" is going to happen. Obviously, if they leave the "safe harbor" of the airport, there is a greater chance of a more dangerous accident to occur. But, the "odds" are against such an accident happening. There are no certainties in life. Someone can be in what would be considered a more "safe" vehicle & be hit by a semi truck or train. One can always find scenarios that "prove" something is unsafe. We can't live in fear because of the possibilty that something "bad" might happen. It is just that - a possibility.
